L'histoire
Third (ou Sister Lovers, publié en 1978) est le troisième album de Big Star, enregistré en 1974 après le départ de Chris Bell.
L’album se distingue par un tournant sombre et expérimental par rapport aux précédents opus, mêlant ballades mélancoliques comme “Holocaust”, éclats rock chaotiques comme “Kanga Roo” et passages introspectifs. Longtemps considéré comme inachevé, il est aujourd’hui célébré comme un chef-d’œuvre culte préfigurant l’indie rock.
